We are a GF family, who likes food adventures. This restaurant ticked all the boxes for us.  Super friendly staff.  The food was  flavorful, beautifully presented, and unique. You choose how spicy you would like it.  Lots of great vegan dishes.  Lots of hearty meat dishes, as well.  The server explains things well.  You can choose to have the meal served family style — all on one platter, or on individual plates.  We chose the authentic family style and enjoyed the familiarity of it. DO NOT skip the coffee.  Be prepared to stay and relax a bit.  It is a haven right in the middle of downtown.  All the thumbs up.

My husband and I had the tibs and veggie platter. Four of us would have left full. It was so much food and so wonderful! Very close to downtown and friendly staff!

This was a very nice restaurant and the Ethiopian food was delicious. Small menu but very tasty. We arrived around 7 o’clock and the restaurant was already busy. They do not serve any alcohol. 
It seems to be family run and operated. On Tripadvisor it says that the restaurant is closed but it is not. It’s worth a visit if you have never tried this type of food before.

Great dinner

The best Ethiopian food we have eaten anywhere in the USA, including DC.  I've lived in Ethiopia as a Peace Corps Volunteer and visited there a dozen times over 5 decades.  Excellent authentic vegetarian and meat options.  The injera (bread) is made from 100% teff flour and is as good as anywhere in Ethiopia. An exceptional experience for both seasoned and new diners with impeccably clean and friendly service.
